MEGAN M. SMITH of Mendon, Rutland
County, Democrat,
was born on June 21, 1955, in
Greencastle, Indiana, and became a
resident of present town in 1995.
Occupation: Executive Director,
Dimensions of Marble – non profit
honoring the history, artistry and
people from the marble industry. She
was educated at Southern Illinois
University, Carbondale, IL (B.S.,
1977). She is married to Gregory
Hoisington Smith and they have two
daughters. Formerly the owner of the
Vermont Inn where she served on the
“Country Inns and Bed & Breakfast
Council;” Advisory Board of the
hospitality management program at
Stafford Technical School; and
served 2 terms as president of the
Killington Chamber of Commerce Board
